Flights to Granada, Malaga or Almeria

Cheap flights have never been easier to find, thanks to a proliferation of low-cost airlines and bargain tour operators who offer some incredible deals. From some countries, and depending on the airline, you may able to fly direct to Malaga.

Nowadays there are some cheap flights direct to Granada International Airport, which is only 50 minutes away from Los Piedaos, most of this on motorway.
For a cheap trip from the UK, try low fare flights.co.uk or go direct to one of the budget airlines, such as
Britannia Airways
Monarch
Easyjet
Ryanair

Most companies offer on-line booking systems, and this is fast becoming the most popular way to both find and pay for the cheapest tickets.

Easyjet, which took over web giants Go.com in 2002, is one of the most popular no-frills charter companies on the Internet, offering low-cost regular journeys between a good choice of British and Spanish airports. Booking is quick and easy and they utilise a no-ticket system. You just pay by credit card and receive a reference number by email, which is all you need for travel (along with your passport).

The in-flight service is usually good, informal and friendly, but, as with many charter companies these days, you don't get a meal on-board and there are no complimentary drinks anymore!

As owners of holiday accommodation that is featured in Alistair Sawdays "Green Travel" and the web site ”Responsible Travel” we are very aware that climate change is a real danger and should be a concern for us all. But we do have to be realistic about the relatively small effect that planes contribute to global warming and be aware of the value of aviation to people’s sense of wellbeing. Also we need resist the temptation to advocate alternatives when no practical alternatives exist. The airlines that fly here use modern planes that are much cleaner than older models and alternative technologies are being developed as a matter of urgency by the industries concerned.

If you prefer to travel in more comfort and you can afford to pay a bit extra, go for a schedule treat with British Airways flights,  or the Spanish national carrier Iberia  which serves most airports on the Spanish mainland and islands. Coming to Los Piedaos, you could stop over at one of the other wonderful Spanish cities served by Iberia. Bilbao  for example has the amazing Guggenheim Museum, and it also boasts a small but exciting modern air terminal Sondica, designed by Santiago Calatrava.

Barcelona  and Madrid  are transit airports for some international flights, and are cities that shouldn't be missed, so you might be able to organise a stopover!

First class travellers on Iberia's inter-continental flights benefit from all sorts of extras, including seats which recline to an almost horizontal position, and a mouth-watering meal selection which includes Iranian caviar, Spanish specialties and international cuisine. Meals are served with silver-plated cutlery, fine china, table linen, quality glassware and a choice of the finest Spanish wines. Even economy passengers travelling with Iberia receive many extras which you won't find on a cheap charter flight these days - free newspapers and magazines, music headsets, films, children's games, a choice of meals and a selection of Spanish wines.
